March Hare

Firstly, I was surprised to find that Lady Gaga is younger than I am. Secondly, I was shocked to be reminded that Albrecht Durer's exquisite watercolour "the young hare" is 508 years old. One is so old and tired in its tediousness and mediocrity and one is so fresh and vital, with each tuft of fur quivering with the rapid lagamorph heartbeat. The one makes me realise just how young I (still) am (despite the few years I have on her), young in body and spirit; the other makes me feel the age I have put upon myself with stress, anxiety, despair, and sloth. Ah, to be more like that Hare, that spring hare, that eternal March hare, mad with the feverish passion of life.
